The Story Behind The Toy Drive
Scot Hudson was a true community servant who never sought recognition for his selfless acts of kindness. Christmas was his favorite time of year, and each holiday season he worked to ensure that local families could experience the joy of giving. Because of his efforts, countless children were able to wake up on Christmas morning with gifts under the tree.
Today, his daughter, Elena Hudson, is honored to continue his tradition and involve the community he loved so deeply. {Scot Hudson Day was officially proclaimed by the Mayor’s Office of the City of Douglasville on May 6th, 2021.}
The 2025 Toy Drive will officially kick off on Sunday, October 5th and run through December 1st. Donation bins will be placed at businesses throughout the community.
The drive is collecting new, unopened toys to ensure that underprivileged children in Douglas County have the holiday season they deserve. All donations will remain local and will be distributed through trusted partners:
- The Douglas County School System
- Douglas County S.H.A.R.E. House
- JC Freedom House
- Douglas County Shelter Transitional Housing for Women & Children
- Local Children in Need
